8. The Consciousness and Behavioral Aspects of Radiological Technologist on Radiation Safety Control of Korean Hospital

It is fact that dramatic development of radiology contributes to diagnosis of mankind diseases and is essential to improvement of public health. In spite of the great value, radiation does harm as one make misuse, overuse, and negligence of its control. This study aims to identifying the perceived safeness of radiation control by radiological technologists working at hospital. A structured questionnaire was developed for this study and administered to the 167 radiological technologists of 44 hospitals. The questionnaire consists of items on the knowledge of radiation protection facilities, the consciousness about radiological safety rule, the items related to the endeavors of decreasing national radiation hazards, relationship between anxiety group and behavioral factors, and performing regular physical check-up and safety education. Radiation calibration is legally required at least once a year. However the study has confirmed that only 38.3% of the hospitals under the survey kept the
