OBJECTIVE To synthesize the 2-(arylamino) ethyl 2-[1-(pyridin-2-yl) eth-oxy] acetate and its effects for ability of memory in mice. METHODS The compounds of 2-(arylamino) ethyl 2-[1-(pyridin-2-yl) ethoxy] acetate (5a~5e) were prepared using 2-ethylpyridine, through the Whol-Ziegler reaction, Williamson reaction and esterification, and its effects for ability of memory in mice were studied by swimming maze test. RESULTS The mistake frequency in mice with large and small doses of 2-(phenylamino) ethyl 2-[1-(pyridin-2-yl) ethoxy] acetate (5a) were significantly decreased as compared with alcohol group, there were a significant different between two groups. CONCLUSION The compound 5a can facilitate the memory in mice.
