TL;DRAbstract

The paper is presented in two parts. Part 1 Bunker Quality Variations presents and discusses the results of a survey carried out on 19 ships of the A.P. Moller group as part of the Veritas fuel quality testing programme. Part 2 summarizes over 200 ship years' experience with the Fuelab on-board fuel testing approach developed by Ocean Fleets. A number of fuel problem, case histories are discussed in some detail to illustrate the advantages of onboard testing.
