TL;DRAbstract

A prenylated xanthon had been isolated from the stem bark of kandis gajah (Garcinia griffithii). The structure of this compound was identified by means of spectroskopic analysis. Each fraction and isolate were tested for its antioxydant properties based on a scavenging activity study using the stable 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical.
