TL;DRAbstract

Objective: To investigate the relationship between seizure at presentation, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), and EEG monitoring in intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) patients. Background: The majority of ICH patients are admitted to a medicine service with neurologic consultation. The purpose was to investigate which ICH patients recieved EEG monitoring. Methods: Retrospective review of consecutive spontaneous ICH patients at our institution from 2008-2013. Patients were considered to have a seizure on presentation if a clinical evidence of a seizure was documented in the medical record; EEG data was not required to confirm seizure on presentation.
