The UK has set targets to reduce carbon emissions by up to 80% by 2050. The residential sector accounts for 14% of carbon emissions. This research aimed to determine whether consumers are ready to live in sustainable homes, assessing their attitude towards sustainable living. \n \nThe research initially focused on global warming and the effects of climate change. It them aimed to establish public perception and availability of sustainable homes. \nThe investigation involved a questionnaire survey which examined public attitude towards sustainable lifestyles and knowledge of sustainable homes, interviews were also conducted. \n \nAfter analysis all the data collected against the research objectives, conclusions and recommendations were made, showing that there needs to be a change in attitude before there is an increase in demand.
