TL;DRAbstract

Agriculture is the main occupation in Thailand and it plays an important role in
\nthe economic development of the country. Thailand is located in the tropical
\nmonsoon climate region where the amount of rainfall is high but shortage of
\nwater occurs even in rainy season. Only 20% of total agricultural area is under
\nirrigation, with rest constituting rainfed area, which has relatively lower crop
\nyields. High soil erosion and reduced soil productivity are some of the problems
\nin the rainfed area.
