A contemporary look at organizations: its structure and its people
TL;DRAbstract
The study traces the evolution of man's organizations with a strong emphasis on contemporary practices. As far as organizational structure is concerned there seems to be no evolving pattern taking over predominance in industry. None of the new concepts have emerged as the best type of organizational structure, since industry seems to be using a combination of these concepts in formal organization. When looking at the human element in organizations however, there does seem to be an emerging pattern. Slowly, industrial organizations are shifting to a more supportive approach in their relations with employees. This theory supplies man with Maslow's highest order needs and is seen most frequently today in project management. (Author)
