In order to study the value of rSj26GST-Sj32-IgG4-ELISA for diagnosis of chronic schistosomiasis, the IgG4 antibodies were observe to detect sera of chronic schistosomiasis with rSj26GST-Sj32 fusion protein by rSj26GST-Sj32-IgG4-ELISA and the sera of patients with clonorchiasis sinensis, paragonimiasis westermani, alveolar echinococcosis, cystic echinococcosis, hepatitis B and pulmonary tuberculosis as well as the healthy people were taken as controls. The sensitivity and specificity of this method were 95.00% and 100.00% respectively, and there was no cross reaction with the sera of patients with alveolar echinococcosis, cystic echinococcosis, hepatitis B and pulmonary tuberculosis. The positive predictive value, negative predictive value and efficiency of diagnosis were 100.00%, 95.56% and 97.59%, respectively. It is suggested that rSj26GST-Sj32-IgG4-ELISA could be applied to immunodiagnosis for chronic schistosomiasis.
