TL;DRAbstract

The present research investigates not only the birth of the modern discourse concerning the institution of the school, dated from the end of the XVIII century, but also the possibility of its death at the end of the XX century. Taking Michel Foucault's genealogical project as its main theoretical reference, the analisis inquires into the present by approaching the fundamental problem of the crisis of the school and of the whole modern educational institution. Departinig from the idea of the crisis of the modern educational project, the research analises some well known studies about the birth of modern instutions showing its intrinsec fragility from within, as well as its repercussions on the very institution of the modern school.
