Simulation of experiments inhaling argon at 1 and 7 atmospheres
TL;DRAbstract
In the previous abstract (Caucha et al. EB’2012, Abstract 1014) the expired argon curve reproduced the data presented by Cruz (FASEB, 25:1109.1, 2011) for 1 ATM. We modified the distribution of volume flow rate in each region (i=1–7) and generation (Vi(z,t)=Vi(t)*[1-∫NAi(z)/NTi(z)ds]), where the clasped term was replaced by the relative gas density obtained from the ideal gas equation (ρr=ρf/ρi), it was the ratio of the final density divided by the initial density, this value was 0.67. There was no significant difference between the curves (continuous line vs interrupted line) for 1ATM. To approximate the data for 7 ATM it was necessary a value of 0.13, less than the used at 1 ATM. It is possible that argon molecules were transported beyond ERV. Thus, argon reached RV. As a consequence, the argon is more diluted than at 1ATM.
