TL;DRAbstract

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the cost of botulinum toxin injection per patient for chronic migraine and other disorders in a botulinum toxin integrated clinic BACKGROUND: Botulinum toxin is used for various neurologic conditions and has been recently approved for chronic migraine. The injection can be performed in regular clinic on a single patient or in a speciality clinic where multiple patient's can be injected. The cost incurred by the patient is different depending upon the amount of the botulinum toxin wasted. DESIGN/METHODS: Retrospective chart review RESULTS: There were 401 patients with 280 patients - chronic migraine, 68 - cervical dystonia, 26 - limb dystonia and 12 - hemifacial spasm,Among 280 patients with chronic migraine, 155 units were injected per patient. Units wasted with vial sharing were 25x280 versus 45x280 without vial sharing. The total saving was $ 36750. There were 68 patient with cervical dystonia with variable dose 150-200 units, with average saving of 30 units per
