TL;DRAbstract

Ecological simulation models have four major uses for impact assessment: Prediction of ecosystem behavior; organization of available data; evaluation of available data; and indicating processes controlling ecosystem dynamics under impact. A simulation model of a southern reservoir was developed for testing the usefulness of simulation models. The model was found to be unable to make quantitatively accurate predictions of the ecosystem dynamics, but useful for organizing and evaluating the available data and indicating controlling processes.
