DESIGN AND CONTROL OF AN ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE

Ralf Leiter-2002-01-01
1

TL;DRAbstract

The combination of the growing need for comfort and the increase in safety requirements has resulted in the development of the power window, the electronic seat and mirror adjustment and ultimately, in the development of the electric parking brake. While the basic concept remains the same for all vehicles, functionality and operational concepts will continue to serve as the criteria for differentiating between the vehicle classes and vehicle manufacturers. The product development described in the following pages offers a multitude of possibilities in this regard. As in the case of all new electronic systems, a cost benefit cannot be directly anticipated at the beginning of the series introduction; in the long run, however, the product is shown to demonstrate adequate potential. For the covering abstract see ITRD E119187.
