The measurement of the rates of hydroxyl radical reactions and the prediction of rate constants in alcohol combustion

PG Greenhill-1986-01-01-UTAS Research Repository

TL;DRAbstract

Experimental studies on the reaction of OH with methanol and ethanol and theoretical studies on four of the reactions of the primary products of the reaction with methanol have been performed. The rates of the reaction of OH (X2 t) with the alcohols methanol, ethanol and (D3) methanol have been determined in the temperature ranges 250-800K , 250-460K, and at 293K respectively using the technique of flash photolysis-resonance absorption.
