TL;DRAbstract

A nearby supernova (SN) explosion in the past can be confirmed by the detection of radioisotopes on Earth. The largest error of this estimate is attributed to the half‐life of 60Fe (18%).• We thus propose a precise measurement of the half‐life of 60Fe.
