TL;DRAbstract

Clarke's gravimetric test [see Analyst (1934) 59, 525] has been slightly modified to enable the thickness of tin coating in differential tinplate to be determined; the tin coating wt. can be determined separately on both the can surfaces. The method is simple, reproducible and suitable for quality control in food canning factories.
