Several paintings of the nineteenth century Sydney woman impressionist Sophie Staffanoni such as her Rocks painting, 'Street Scene, The Rocks, 1902', 'Old Cottage', 'Old Sydney' are analysed for their 'en plein air' style, subjects and influences. The level of production of 19th century women impressionists, their training, techniques and artistic associations can be understood from the analysis of her paintings.
