TL;DRAbstract

This document describes the current policy drivers providing new opportunities for occupational therapists in social work departments in Scotland to change their practice. This evidence-based report proposes ‘next steps’ for occupational therapists, managers and directors of social work departments to improve the service that occupational therapists offer to service users and their carers. The document can also be used as an aid to raise the profile of occupational therapy with local and national policy makers and to support occupational therapists in articulating the benefits and positive outcomes they bring to their clients.
