Avaliação clinica e radiografica do tratamento de defeitos intra-osseos usando as proteinas derivadas da matriz do esmalte ou barreiras biodegradaveis

TL;DRAbstract

This study evaluated the clinical and radiographic outcomes of the treatment of symmetrical and bilateral intrabony defects using the enamel derivative proteins (EMD) or bioabsorbable membranes (GTR).Ten subjects were screened with 11 pairs of 1 or 2 bony walls, at the proximal aspects of monoradicular or multiradicular non-furcated superior teeth. At baseline and after 6 months, the following clinical parameters were obtained: Plaque Index (PI), Bleeding Index (BI), Recession Depth (RD), Probing Depth (PD), and Clinical attachment Level (CAL).Standardized digital images were obtained at the same experimental times for determining the Osseous Defect Level (ODL), Alveolar Crest Level (ACL), intrabony component (INTRA), and defect angle. The digital images were evaluated to access the alveolar crest resorption and bony defect fill.Digital subtraction depicted changes at Optic Density (OD) within the defects.Average values for all parameters were analyzed using Student t test.No statistical
