TL;DRAbstract

In this project the main aim was to improve the current road traffic conditions and to reduce the accident risks especially in a rural environment with poor visibility. Research shows there is a strong correlation between driver sleepiness and the risk of road traffic crashes. Improving the driver’s attention can therefore prove to be an efficient solution for avoiding collision and for reacting in time to (sudden ) scenario changes. The approach is a simple but effective tool which aims to make the drivers more cautious and mindful in traffic. The proposed solution of fluorescent wheel caps would make the presence of another traffic participant more obvious without visually disturbing the driver. In this report an experiment is proposed to test the change in driver’s behavior when the fluorescent caps are used in these hazardous situations
