The article is devoted to the issue of shaping an ecologically oriented consciousness. The main objective is to explain the impact of a foreign language on a person and its importance for the correction of an individual's orientational values. Some aspects of a regional approach to the solution of the problem of shaping an ecologically oriented consciousness. This may be obtained by using the positive experience of German ecological traditions while students acquire the German language. The paper focuses on correlation analysis of specific characteristics inherent in Germans and Russians.
