TL;DRAbstract

In this work, based upon Maingueneau's interdiscoursive approach (1983, 1984), we analyse self-help discourse, trying to reveal some of the semantics features that define this discourse. First of all, analysing modality in self-help discourse, we find out that the manifestation of certainty is one of its claimed features, and that the manifestation of doubt is one of the features that this discourse rejects.
