Iterative Methods for a Model Problem

1

TL;DRAbstract

In this section we will discuss briefly the implementation of various iterative algorithms on vector computers. It is assumed that the reader already has some familiarity with the use of basic, iterative methods, such as presented for instance in the book of Hageman and Young 12241. Our discussion is closely tied to the CRAY-1 and the CYBER 205, but the philosophy of implementation is relevant for any vector computer.
