The article discusses everyday life of people, who did their best for the society, describes their milieu and historical surroundings. It is well known that the most famous for their patronage projects are the Russian merchants, as well as the elite of the industrial bourgeoisie and financial oligarchy. The history keeps the names of the dynasties engaged in charitable activities: Morozovs, Khludovs, Bardygins, Kuznetsovs, Kudins, Ryabushinskys, Bakhrushins, Mammontovs, and many others. They built schools and hospitals, supported artists and created museums. In this regard the following question arises: whether the traditions of the past are still alive?
