TL;DRAbstract

The German pronouns are shown to spread over five inflectional variants deriving from one basic pattern. At the same time the pronouns show some restrictions concerning the unfolding of the categorial elements. Thus because of their (defective) inflection the pronouns can be separated from the other inflectional word classes and can be seen as an autonomous word class
