TL;DRAbstract

ABS>The method set forth by Murthy (adsorption of iodine 131 in milk on anionic resin) is resumed with a view to applying it systematically in case of a nuclear accident. By utilizing two scintillation detectors set up in parallel and a 512 channels spectrometer, its sensitivity can be raised to 20 picocuries of iodine 131 per liter of milk for a total operating duration of two hours (and to 5 picocuries for an 11 hours total operating duration).
