Information design in the innovation process of the textile and clothing industries

TL;DRAbstract

Nanotechnology has become one of the most common innovations within the textile and clothing industry. Therefore, it is essential to understand how these new technologies are perceived by users, so that designers may develop artifacts that are suitable for their physical and emotional needs. However, in order to understand the relationship between the user and new products being developed with nanotechnology, the textile and clothing (TAndamp;C) industry requires certain answers. Thus, this paper presents a number of reflections on the manner in which man perceives the object. In this particular case, the clothing-object, which contains the technology in their materiality, and that in certain aspects related to the value, may contribute to the selection of the product. Additionally, this article also seeks to reveal how information design professionals may improve the user interface with these objects.
