TL;DRAbstract

The entire absorption spectrum of $PuF_{6}$ in the near ir and visible regions has been obtained by coupling a long path length absorption cell with a BOMEM DA3.002 Fourier transform spectrometer. This setup allows us to obtain spectra at very high sensitivity and high resolution. An analysis of the vibronic energy levels and spectroscopic assignments of the observed transitions will be presented. The energy levels obtained from those spectroscopic measurements of the gas phase PuF6 molecule are the most accurate values available. A comparison is shown of our assignments and results with available theoretical studies and the matrix-isolation results.
