TL;DRAbstract

This article renders the present refl ection of catholic theology and morality on homosexuality, assuming an interdisciplinary approach, between the theological-Biblical contribution and the one of experimental sciences that deal with the subject. The fi rst line of contributions deepens in the modern exegetical understanding on the Biblical texts that might refer to homosexuality, then continues with the data of the Magisterial, later on the Vatican Conciliate II, and concludes with the contemporary theological-morality debate. The second line of contributions stops at the understanding of homosexuality for psychiatric and psychological sciences, it goes into the complex debate on its origin, establishes necessary distinctions, and concludes with the meaning of homosexuality. It excludes the way to understand it as disease or alternative before a human sexuality that would be essentially neutral in its direction.
