TL;DRAbstract

Objective To observe the effect of compound Danshen dripping pill (CDDP) on ability of learning and memory in rats of vascular dementia (VD) and explore its mechanism. Methods The models of VD rats were established by ligation of the bilateral common carotid artery and treated with CDDP. The ability of learning and memory of rats was detected by Morris water maze, pathological change of hippocampus was observed by HE staining, and expressions of Bax and Caspase-3 in hippocampal CA3 region were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The ability of learning and memory of rats in treatment group was higher than that of model group, and the hippocampal pathological damage in treatment group was slight, while the lesions in model group was more severe. The expressions of Bax and Caspase-3 in hippocampal CA3 region in treatment group were lower than that of model group.
