Edition of a manuscript note by the Belgian scholar Gerardus Vossius (1547-1609) on the XL martyrs of Sebasteia, which is now preserved at Rome, Bibl. Alessandrina, 92, ff. 7-8v. The scholar defends the traditional version of the martyrdom - that on the lake - in accordance with the rules laid down by the Congregation for the Reform of the Breviary under Cardinal Sirleto (1514-1585).
