1038 Learning Objectives 1. To review the normal scintigraphic appearance of 99mTc-Aprotinin. 2. To review the typical imaging of 99mTc-Aprotinin according to various types and deposit sites of amyloidosis. 3. To suggest the usefulness of 99mTc-Aprotinin beyond amyloidosis and the relation to blood biomarker. Amyloidosis is a disease that results from the extracellular deposition of particular protein, amyloid. The amyloid deposition can occur in various tissues of the body, and it leads to organ dysfunction and death. Therefore the clinical presentation and clinical course is generally variable, depending on the amyloid involved organ. The definitive diagnosis of amyloidosis is made by histopathology as Congo Red stain. 99mTc-Aprotinin can show amyloid deposit lesion noninvasively, which may be useful for patients suffered from amyloidosis to indicate the extent of disease and the appropriate biopsy site for diagnosis.
