TL;DRAbstract

Strain distribution of fasteners under static and dynamic load. Knowledge about the load distribution of fasteners beeing loaded within the elastic and plastic range is obtained by measurement of local strain. Deformations of the engaged thread caused by increased preloading lead to more uniform distribution related to the circumstances of the bolt. Load distribution depends also on the history of load alteration. That is why fatigue fracture surfaces often exhibit not only one but several cracks nearby
