TL;DRAbstract

Objective To investigate the causes of different complications and surgical quality of cataract about Pengnian Brightness Action in Yizheng county, Jiangsu Province. Methods The causes of different complications and operational quality were investigated and statistically analyzed. Results the investigation, 448 eyes of 413 cases had undergone cataract surgeries in 2007. The common complications were posterior capsular rupture in 27 eyes (6.02%), iris damage in 19 eyes (4.24%), temporary intraocular hypertension in 18 eyes (4.01%), corneal edema in 51 eyes (11.38%), fulminating choroidal hemorrhage in 1 eye (0.22%), hyphema in 11 eyes (2.46%), tardive endophthalmitis in 1 eye (0.22%). Of 448 eyes, 440 eyes (98.21%) got rid of blindness, 379 eyes (84.59%) got rid of handicap. Conclusions The current status after cataract surgery for ”blindness” has been ideal in Yizheng.
