TL;DRAbstract

[EN]The aim of this paper is to have a first approach to the methodology and the state of art of my thesis, in which I analyse the relations between the ideas of nobility and music. Beyond musical patronage patterns, I want to propose a study focused on musical practices (to play an instrument, to compose music, to know musical theory) within the social and cultural complexity of Italian nobility (particularly the Genoese) in the sixteenth and seventeenth century. The purpose of my thesis is to observe the music as a tool for socialization and for the construction of socio-cultural images, by families and individuals from noble society.
