TL;DRAbstract

Sustainable development may eventually rely strongly on the principle 'Think globally, act locally'. The 'act locally' element comprises two components from the perspective of management accounting for sustainable development: (i) the ecosystem and (ii) the social system.<br/>It is the second component of local action that is the subject of this article. For the purposes of sustainable development, many of the business-society relationships involved may be described and understood as part of stakeholder analysis.
