Extensão da analise R/S para caracterização geoestatistica local e regional de reservatorios de hidrocarbonetos

TL;DRAbstract

The fractal concepts have been increasingly used to characterize and describe geological phenomena. Their applicability extends from the microscopic scale, such as thin section analysis, fluid percolation and sedimentological studies, to the macroscopic scale processes, such as the pattern of fracture distribution for tectonic analysis or generation of petrophysical property distributions to improve the knowledge and simulation of fluid transpor! in porous media. The latter subject constitutes the main goal of the present thesis. We study the main features of a family of functions. referred to as fractional Brownian motion (fBm) and fractional Gaussian noise (fGn) by These distributions have the property of being statistically well characterized by lhe parameter H, the Hurst exponent, which measures lhe intermittency of the process. By using the H value, we are able to perform a stochastic interpolation of rock properties, estimating values of these properties in unsampled points. Thes
