TL;DRAbstract

Huangmen (黄门), a royal organ in charge of ceremonial affairs in the Han Dynasty not only has its regular functions, but can also be assigned the work that should be done by other branches of the government, i.e. Taichang (太常) and Yuefu (乐府). That is to say, the labor division between these different governmental organs in the Han Dynasty is far less clear than expected.
