TL;DRAbstract

The editor of this volume suggests, and I agree, that if youth are to embrace the idea that citizenship is an inclusive concept, issues of identity and diversity must be explicitly addressed. Our attention must be turned to youth as the “socio-political actors” in our societies. As a response to this statement, my intention in this paper is to shine a light on a group of youth who rarely, if ever, have a role to play in these conversations.
