A SIMPLE EXTRACTIONLESS REVERSE PHASE HPLC METHOD FOR DETECTION AND QUANTIFICATION OF CYPERMETHRIN IN RAT PLASMA

0

TL;DRAbstract

This study reports a simple and rapid High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) method for estimation of the common domestic insecticide, cypermethrin in rat plasma. The method is based upon a simple step extraction of pyrethroid from plasma and assay using reverse phase C 18 column as solid phase, mixture of methanol and water (87:13) as mobile phase with a flow rate of 0.9ml/min and photodiode array detection at 225nm. The limit of detection and limit of quantitation were estimated to be 0.06 and 0.1µg.ml -1 , respectively. The standard curve was linear in the concentration range of 0.1- 15µg.ml -1 with a correlation of 0.997. This method is advantageous for routine analysis of pyrethroids in plasma.
