TL;DRAbstract

Techniques of load flow and economic analysis are presented in this thesis. Methods of load flow solutions for an electricity system presented in this project are: direct and indirect. The iterative methods have been made up of: Gauss Seidel, Fast decoupled load flow and second order load flow methods. The rule of thumb in order to determine the losses per annum is also presented. The powerful software DAPPER is used to calculate load flow and voltage drop. Four methods of economic analysis are studied but the net present value method is used to find the optimum option due to the reason that it has gained widespread acceptance in Australia.
