TL;DRAbstract

Increased urinary excretion of calcium has been observed after the administration of many unrelated substances such as parathyroid extract (l), citrate salts (2), magnesium salts (3, 4), acidotic salts (5), excessive vitamin D (6), and the adrenal cortical steroids (7, 8).The dissimilarity of these materials would presume a different mode of action in each case.The following experiments were performed to ascertain, if possible, in what manner these substances exert their effects upon calcium metabolism .EXPERIMENT 1.
