TL;DRAbstract

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) has drawn much attention for its anticarcinogenic functions of lowing cholesterol content in blood and acting as growth factor. It is found that the largest quantities of CLA are contained in foods of ruminant origin like beef. CP-Sil 88 (60 m×0.25 mm i. d×0.20 μm) gas chromatography was used in this study to analyze the content of c9, t11-CLA in beef. Each sample can be finished in 38 min by this method. Using normalization method with adjustment factor in quantitative analysis, RSD of this method is 1.34% and the average retrieve rate is 98.2%.
