TL;DRAbstract

Touring show of work that includes a mixed media installation, video installation, drawings, light boxes, and a series of 60 small paintings, oil on canvas, and acrylic on canvas.

\nThe research programme pursued by O'Kane through Mobile Museum + Museum Collection explores themes of cultural production as it relates to celebrated museums, houses, and studios. The touring show was supported by a number of funding sources, including Arts Council Northern Ireland and the Vermont Studio Centre USA. The project was selected by MCAC for showing in Portadown, Northern Ireland and the catalogue produced with Arts Council Northern Ireland and CBC funding. The work was selected by Dan Cameron for the EV+A Open Exhibition in Ireland, where it was awarded a £1000 prize.

\nNew concepts derived from this work have generated further projects including a fictional text by O'Kane on the topic of the ideal museum which was included in: Gemma Tipton (ed.) (2005) Space; Architecture
