TL;DRAbstract

Consideration is given to: the use of time transformation methods in fatigue and fatigue crack growth analysis; the response of nonlinear oscillators to stochastic excitation; and the probabilistic structural dynamics of an inelastic structural system. Among other topics discussed are: wide band random vibration of an equiangular equilateral triangular plate; incipient failure detection methods based on random decrement time functions; stochastic responses in secondary systems; and the application of cumulant closure to random vibration problems. Consideration is also given to: probabilistic analyses of vehicle vibrations; the oscillator response to nonstationary excitation; and orthogonal decomposition and transmission of nonstationary random processes.
