TL;DRAbstract

Monensin is a feed additive used in dairy cattle diets to improve feed efficiency that may reduce methane(CH4) emissions; however, past results have been variable, which could be due to the dose of monensin included in the diet. The objective of this study was to test the short-term dose effects of monensin on eructated CH4 emissions from lactating dairy cows.
