Human Hand Petroglyphs

TL;DRAbstract

Two Historic petroglyphs depicting the human hand are described, one associated with the well-known Barnesville Track Rocks, Belmont Co., Ohio, the other occurring on a large sandstone boulder in a stream bed at Rice's Landing, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania. Both represent the left hand and are associated with Historic graffiti. Occurrences of similar petroglyphs, both prehistoric and Historic, are reviewed.
