'Kanak, L'Art est une Parole' has opened at Musee du Quai Branly, some fifteen years after the Noumea Accord (1998), and 25 years following the Matignon Agreement (1988). It's a timely then for a commentary on the advancement of Kanak culture and patrimony, and a reflection on events that have since passed as negotiations around New Caledonian independence continue to play out.
