The process unleashed by the economic globalization implies greater integration between the production activities internationally spread, requiring a stronger economic coordination. The trade liberalization and the entrance of new competitors have changed the scenery of the Brazilian automotive industry chain, bringing direct consequences to its suppliers. Beyond the wave of denacionalization of the Brazilian suppliers, the assembly plants have tried to reduce the number of suppliers and their role in the process, increasing their role in the generation of value.
